The data is analyzed, compiled and published by UN-Habitat’s Global Urban Observatory which supports governments, local authorities and CSOs to develop urban indicators, data and statistics. Statistics are collected through household surveys and censuses.
The WCCD is implementing ISO 37120 Sustainable Development of Communities: Indicators for City Services and Quality of Life, the new international standard; created by cities, for cities. The WCCD has developed the first ISO 37120 certification system and the Global Cities Registry™.

Developed by the Danish Institute for Human Rights (DIHR) with inputs from UN OHCHR, this searchable database aims to allow users to check on progress on achieving both sustainable development and human rights goals worldwide using its visuals. The database links recommendations from the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) to the SDGs.
