In 2019, the World Bank and the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) released a report highlighting the net benefit of investing in resilient infrastructure in low- and middle-income countries could be USD 4.2 trillion over the lifetime of new infrastructure. In the past year, amid the crises brought by #COVID19, advancing resilient infrastructure has gained center stage in recovery discussions.
What is resilient infrastructure? What screening criteria are used to identify it? How can cities advance resilient infrastructure to achieve multiple goals? What partnerships and tools are required to invest in resilient projects?
In this session, we will discuss resilient infrastructure, from market trends to key drivers, financing mechanisms, and the processes of engaging communities. We will be joined by James F. Murley, Chief Resilience Officer of Miami-Dade County who will highlight opportunities for investment in resilient infrastructure, and Henri Blas, Chief Content Officer at Global Infrastructure Hub who will share tools and criteria used for scoring and evaluating resilient infrastructure investments.
