What is City2City?

City2City Network is a peer-to-peer learning platform providing curated information and bringing together cities and experts to design solutions for urban challenges. The platform facilitates engagement among cities for knowledge exchange and approaches for building inclusive cities. It is facilited by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Who can join City2City?

Anyone with a personal or professional interest in making cities and communities more sustainable is invited to register to join City2City here > There’s no membership fee to join City2City network and it provides secure access to its members.

What can City2City members do?

Registered members can upload information and resources – including blog posts, photos, publications, case studies (country stories) and videos - related to their work or voluntary efforts for sustainable cities. Click the 'Add resource' button to submit your content (please register and log-in first).

How can I add resources to City2City?

All registered users of the City2City website are invited to contribute resources relevant to implementation of SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. The website has been designed as a user-friendly, intuitive tool to share your resources with the sustainable cities community. When will I see my content publically available on City2City?

All content uploaded to the website by registered members is first screened by the website facilitators for relevance, as per the Code of Conduct, before being added to the City2City resource base. You can view the content you have uploaded to the website at any time under your user profile.  

Who runs City2City?

The City2City website is managed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Sustainable Development Cluster in New York. However, the Hub is a neutral space for participants from any community or organization to share their work – from individuals to schools, from UN agencies to NGOs and private sector businesses.

How is City2City connected to The New Urban Agenda?

Through the launch of its Sustainable Urbanization Strategy at the HABITAT III Conference, UNDP made a formal commitment to support the New Urban Agenda implementation, following the three interlinked principles of the New Urban Agenda to “leave no one behind”, “ensure sustainable and inclusive urban economies”, and “ensure environmental sustainability”.
