Imaguru Smart Cities Hackathon was held in Minsk in 2016 and supported by UNDP-GEF projects “Supporting Green Urban Development in Small and Medium-Sized Cities in Belarus” and “Improving Energy Efficiency in Residential Buildings in the Republic of Belarus”. The event was focused on ecology and inclusion of people with disabilities into the urban life, and resulted in 12 projects aimed to transform cities by smart planning. As a result of this initiative, UNDP in Belarus supported further development of two projects conceived during the Hackathon. The winning project, “Tree Map”, features an interactive map to track the condition of trees in urban areas, and “Open Way”, features an online informational platform for people with disabilities. Coinciding with Inclusive Belarus campaign, the project is aimed to help people with disabilities (PWD) integrate into the society, and collect information about the city’s infrastructure available for people with disabilities.
