SDGs in Cities: UN-Habitat comprehensive SDG localization approach
We are pleased to invite you to attend the open webinar SDGs in Cities: UN-Habitat comprehensive SDG localization approach, which will take place virtually on 10 March 2021 (12:00 – 13:30 hrs. CET) and is organized by UN-Habitat (the Urban Practices Branch and the Country Office Spain) and Madrid City Council.
Since the approval of the 2030 Agenda, local and regional governments around the world have embarked on an unprecedented effort to localize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in their territories. Innovative strategies and policies anchored to the SDGs have been designed together with initiatives aimed at promoting territories towards a sustainable future.
UN-Habitat has been engaged in promoting the localization of the SDGs and the VLR (Voluntary Local Review) global movement since the very beginning. In fact, since 2018, the agency has been supporting VLRs in all of its dimensions, as well as refining and developing its support to SDG Localization through a multi-level and multi-stakeholder territorial approach to sustainable development anchored to three main technical components:
- Global Urban Monitoring Framework;
- Support to VLRs and VNRs; and
- SDG Cities Flagship Programme.
