Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to share with you the latest news of the global UN capacity development initiative on Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM)- a joint initiative of UN DESA, UNCDF and UNOPS.
You can find attached the second issue of the UN Newsletter on IAM. This edition features an interview with Dr. Catherine Farvacque-Vitkovic, who has more than 30 years of experience as the World Bank’s Lead Urban Development Specialist. Having led the preparation and implementation of a large number of urban development, municipal management, and infrastructure projects in many cities around the world, Dr. Farvacque-Vitkovic explains the challenges and benefits of promoting better practices on infrastructure asset management at the local level. We also invited three senior government officials from Nepal to discuss their experiences with key practices that strengthen sustainable infrastructure asset management.
The UN Newsletter on IAM is a two-way tool for communication with local and national governments, as well as with practitioners, experts, and academia from around the world. We invite you to share with us successful experiences on sustainable infrastructure asset management from your community and provide feedback or questions here.
We look forward to hearing back from you!
Sincerely,
The UN Infrastructure Asset Management team
